Nintendo, Nokia and Sony sued for Distributing Gaming Stuff

Most people think that gaming has done everyone good and why not, playing games teaches us so many things that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. While most of the Gamer folks welcome every gaming device that does more than simply play games like downloading media etc. via Wireless Gaming devices, a Texas-based Company – Wall Wireless LLC – thinks that it holds patent for a “Method and Apparatus for Creating and Distributing Real-Time Interactive Media Content Through Wireless Communication Networks and the Internet.” Apparently this patent makes the distribution of “messages having aural or visual content that is generated by the operator using handheld apparatuses such as mobile telephones” against the law.

According to Wall Wireless, that patent not only covers the DS and PSP but also some Games and Nokia N-Gage Devices

According to Wall Wireless, that patent not only covers the DS and PSP but also some Games and the Nokia's N-Gage Series Phones

According to Wall Wireless, that patent not only covers the DS and PSP, but specific games like Mario Kart and Wipeout Pulse, and a whole host of Nokia’s game-playing phones, including the Nokia N81, N96, N95, N93, and N82 (All the Nokia Phones that are Officially N-Gage Compatible). This has resulted in the Wall Wireless LLC seeking a permanent injunction against the allegedly infringing companies lest it be “irreparably harmed,” as well as the usual damages, expenses, and attorney’s fees, not to mention “pre-judgment and post-judgment interest.”

Sony, Nokia or Nintendo are yet to give an official clarification about this.
