The news is hot my friends, we have all been waiting for this moment. PS3 will at last play backup games from you hard drive. No need to keep those expensive Blu-Ray discs anymore. You will now be able to backup games from a Blu-Ray game disc and play it anytime from the hard disk.
This could also mean that there will soon be an online marketplace for download-able games. You will soon be able to download the games you like and not have the need to burn them onto a Blu-Ray disc. This also means that there will be a lot of Pirated games for PS3 pretty soon. So far, PS3 was hack-proof and hence you weren’t able to play ‘backup’ games from your hard drive. But this has changed now.
To play PlayStation 3 backup games, you will first need to Jailbreak your PS3 console. The Jailbreak process involves using a USB modchip which retails for $169. Too little price to pay for the benefits you get, we think. Playing backup games as compared to playing them off Blu-Ray disc not only means that you will no longer have to worry about scratching your expensive discs, but it also means the games will load faster and you don’t have to look for the disc every time you want to play the game.
Below is a video by OZModChips showing the modchip at its full swing. Do remember this is the first time something like this has hit the market, something that is able to circumvent the security of PS3.

You might want to update this article because Sony recently released a firmware update that breaks the hack used for the mod chip. Since, unfortunately, the firmware update is required to use your PS3 at all, this mod chip was obsolete 3 days after it was publicly released.
Hopefully, your readers will save their money and not spend it on something that is totally useless.

(The title says it's a rumor, but it was confirmed by Kotaku.com later that day.)
