Everyone of us knows that music is like a sea whose depth can never be measured. There are thousands of instruments with millions of variations and sounds yet the music industry never stop improvising. One of the recent impeccable and funny such instrument is the Mopho Keyboard brought to you by Dave Smith instruments. The Mopho keyboard is an improvement of it’s older award winning version which was known as Prophet 08 . The DSI Mopho keyboard has a lot of features and sound effects to offer.

Mopho features 32 full-sized, semi-weighted keys with velocity and after touch in a package about the same size as most 25-note controller keyboards. Choose from 384 preset sounds or craft your own with 25 soft-touch knobs and 20 switches. The outer looks of Mopho Keyboard are also pretty with wooden panel. Although, the color may not match with everyone’s taste but it can be compromised keeping in mind the devices main functionality. The Dimensions are 3.35” x 18.65” x 11.1/10” and weighs 10 lbs. The overall synthesis topology is identical, with two oscillators (each with its own sub-oscillator), a noise source and a switchable 2 or 4-pole Curtis low-pass filter that self-oscillates when the resonance is cranked up in 24dB/octave mode.

The Mopho interface is very friendly and in the New version where ever possible encoders have been replaced by Pots. Thus, a 330 degree sweep has been used to attach majority of knobs. The main features of Mopho keyboard are : 2 oscillators, 2 sub-octave generators, a classic Curtis low-pass filter (2- or 4-pole), 3 5-stage envelope generators (ADSR plus delay), 4 LFOs, and real analog VCAs. Also other features like an arpeggiator, a gated 16 x 4 step sequence, feedback, the ability to process external audio, and an extensive modulation matrix has been also included.
