Why You Should Not Root your Android Smartphone

To root or not to root that is the question….

When you root your Android Smartphone it will allow you to access features which are generally not accessible to others. It will also allow you to personalize and modify the appearance of your device with custom apps and themes from your root directory. You can improve the network signals and battery life and do much more. While there are a number of benefits, there are also equally strong reasons why you should not root your Android.

Things Go Wrong All the Time

It is easy to find all the information you need and step by step instructions on how to root your Android online. But it is wise to remember that things go wrong all the time. A tiny mistake can easily ruin your device’s coding. This has happened to innumerable users over time. Once that happens your software will be damaged to an extent where your device would be just about useless. There’s not much that can be done to correct that. You will need to think if you are ready to risk your device and buy a new one if something goes wrong in the rooting process.

Malware Threat

One of the reasons why there are security features in your Android is to protect it from dangerous malware and viruses that may invade the device and create irreparable damage. During the rooting process you will be basically downgrading the device’s security levels. This means that your Android will be more vulnerable to viruses and malware. After your security is breach you may end up with a smartphone that doesn’t even work. The potential risk from malware is high and requires careful consideration.

Void Warranty

While there aren’t any laws that prevent you from rooting an Android, it will definitely nullify your manufacturer warranty. Manufacturers consider it standard practice to declare warranties void if the device has been tampered with or opened. Although you will definitely have access to a number of benefits through this process, if there are any technical issues due to rooting or any time later, the repair bills will not be covered by the warranty. You will need to foot the bill on your own and it goes without saying that major hardware or software damage is definitely extremely expensive to repair.

As it can be seen here, there are two sides to rooting any Android device.
