How the 3D Work:

Some of you probably know how the 3D glasses show you the 3D effect of an image. But for those who are not aware of the fact, we will first summarize the function of 3D glasses. The red and cyan colored 3D glasses are commonly used that have two different types of colored lenses, a blue and a red. When you see through these lenses, each eye sees a slightly different image. These different images are blended together by your brain and as a result, this produces the 3-Dimensional effect of the image or source.

Most commonly used 3D glasses are the polarized 3D glasses that are being used in the movie theaters that work by limiting the extent of light that goes in each of your eyes. Another type of 3D glasses is LCD shutter glasses. These glasses works by blacking out one eye at a time while viewing different types of images from each eye.

Functioning of 3D Sunglasses:

While sitting in a 3D movie theatre you will observe that there are two types of projectors in the theatre that projects two different types of images. The 3D glasses you wear, allows each different image to pass through each different lens. Different colored lenses allows different image to enter. As you can see that each lens filters from two of the images and allows only one of them to enter through it.

On the other hand polarized 3D glasses works with a different function. These glasses have a different type of lenses but the principle of the lens is the same. Each of them allows only one type of image to pass through it and resists the other one to enter and then your mind does the rest of the job by blending the two images.

After all this technical discussion, you must be so confused about how you can make these 3D glasses at home using your household goods. We assure you that it is pretty simple. Although we know that these 3D glasses have a lot of technical applications but they are really easy to assemble.

How to Make 3D Glasses at Home:

Step 1: The first and the foremost thing that you have to do is to find the necessary items that you are going to use in making your 3D glasses. You can easily find these things around you, in your home.  Things that we are going to use are: a transparent plastic sheet, a cheap pair of sun glasses or you can use a hard board instead of sun glasses and two permanent blue and red markers.

Step 2: In the second step remove the original lenses from the frame of the glasses and use these lenses to make a template from the transparent plastic sheet.

Step 3: If you don’t have the sun glasses or if you are not willing to tear your expensive sun glasses into parts then you can use the hard board and cut it into the shape of a frame of eye glasses.

Step 4: Now color these templates with the permanent markers. One with the blue and the other with the red marker.

Step 5: If you are working with the card board then fix the colored lenses into it using a scotch tape or anything else that can fix the lenses with the frame of the glasses.

Step 6: In the sixth step put these colored plastic sheet lenses in the frame of the glasses and fix them in the place where the old lenses were placed.

Step 7: The most important thing that you should keep in mind while fixing the new plastic lenses in the frame is that the blue lens should be in the right side of the frame and so as the red in the left side of the frame.
